Doylestown Hospital Earns National Awards for Excellence in Stroke and Cardiovascular Care
National honors continue to affirm Doylestown Health's position as a leader in heart and stroke care
DOYLESTOWN – Doylestown Hospital continues to earn national recognition for quality and patient safety in the delivery of stroke and cardiovascular care, including several awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and the American College of Cardiology.
Doylestown Hospital recently received the following through the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines® program:
- Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Elite Plus
- Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll
- Resuscitation Gold Plus Award (adult)
- AFIB Bronze Quality Achievement Award.
Doylestown Hospital received the following award for treatment of heart attack as part of the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® program:
- Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award.
Doylestown Hospital received the American College of Cardiology's:
- NCDR ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.

For the seventh consecutive year, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recognized Doylestown Hospital with the Stroke Gold Plus Award for the hospital's commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to evidence-based guidelines.
Doylestown Hospital also received the association's Target: StrokeSM Elite Plus award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient's arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke.
Doylestown Hospital is recognized with the Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for the sixth consecutive year. The award recognizes the hospital's commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence. The goal is speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients.
In addition, Doylestown Hospital received the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Gold Plus Award (Adult) for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer cardiac arrests in the hospital.
For the first time, Doylestown Hospital received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines®-AFIB Bronze Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association guidelines for the management of patients with atrial fibrillation.
The American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline program's goal is to reduce system barriers to prompt treatment for heart attacks, beginning with the 9-1-1 call, to EMS transport and continuing through hospital treatment and discharge. Doylestown Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.
Doylestown Hospital has also received the American College of Cardiology's NCDR ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2018. Doylestown Hospital is one of only 203 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor. The award recognizes Doylestown Hospital's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that Doylestown Hospital has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
