Doylestown Hospital Recognized Again With Top 5-Star Rating
DOYLESTOWN (March 5, 2019) – Doylestown Hospital was recognized with the highest rating – five stars – by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for overall quality.
Doylestown Hospital also received five stars in the previous iteration of overall quality measures by CMS in December 2017. CMS did not update the ratings in 2018.
"The five-star rating reaffirms our dedication and mission to proactively deliver high-quality, innovative care to our community," said Eleanor Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Doylestown Health. "Team members throughout the hospital continually work to improve the safety and efficiency of the coordinated system of care. The results of these sustained efforts place us among the top providers in the region and the nation."
Doylestown Hospital is the only hospital in Bucks County to earn five stars and one of 11 five-star hospitals in Pennsylvania.
"Our clinical teams including physicians, nurses and technicians have created a culture of exemplary patient care resulting in the clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction reflected in the five-star rating," said Scott Levy, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Doylestown Health. "Our commitment and dedication to quality is the foundation of our culture, and five stars give patients and their families an important indicator that we are meeting our goals."
The CMS star ratings are intended to evaluate the overall quality of a healthcare institution for the benefit of the healthcare consumer. Up to 57 quality measures are evaluated and include a combination of Medicare claims data as well as other publically-available data for all patients such as processes of care, hospital-associated infections and the CMS patient satisfaction survey.
