A Message to the Doylestown Health Family and Community

Community Outreach |

These are extremely trying and difficult times in our nation, in our community, and in our organization. Within the context of managing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are now seeing and feeling the pain and anger of racial discrimination and social injustice. We know firsthand, throughout a century of caring for our community, that the pain and hurt of any person can affect many in a family, a neighborhood and far beyond. We not only share the pain, frustration, and anger of racial injustice and discrimination; we also share the responsibility to address these issues.

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to live by our stated values which strive to cultivate a workplace that makes equality, diversity, and openness priorities, that continues to listen and learn from one another in safe and inclusive environments, and that is respectful of different perspectives and backgrounds.

  • We unequivocally condemn racism, bigotry, discrimination, and any other form of named or unnamed hatred.
  • We are intolerant of violence.
  • We stand up against injustice.
  • We are committed to inclusion where everyone is welcome.

We grow better together by cultivating a trusting environment where all people feel safe, comfortable and empowered to voice their ideas, thoughts and concerns. By behaving in this way, we also set an example for all of the communities we serve.

Doylestown Health’s mission is to "improve the quality of life and proactively advocate for the health and well-being of the individuals we serve." This means people of every background, color and creed. It is critical that we continue to talk about the issues facing us today because we believe dialogue and action are paths to a better future. Thank you for your commitment to Doylestown Health and to making our workplaces an environment where everyone -- patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and staff -- feels safe, valued and respected.
