Specialty Programs

Neurologically impaired program

A multidisciplinary team including physical, occupational and speech therapists provides a case management approach for stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions. The goal of the program is to improve well-being and return the individual to the community.

Doylestown Health's multidisciplinary team utilizes the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) Programs:

  • LSVT LOUD is an effective treatment for the symptoms of impaired voice and swallowing. This therapy improves vocal loudness by stimulating the muscles of the voice box (larynx) through a series of exercises.
  • LSVT BIG is an intensive and complex one-on-one treatment program that increases the quality of movement by addressing walking, flexibility, balance, and other daily living activities.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation

This physical therapy treatment approach strengthens organs that support the bladder, urethra and other organs in the pelvis for both women and men. By stabilizing the pelvic floor, urological conditions such as urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency of urination, post-prostatectomy and postpartum issues, pelvic floor pain and prolapse can be improved.

Hand therapy

Occupational therapists with advanced hand certification treat upper extremity conditions resulting from underlying medical and neurological conditions, injury or surgery. They use energy conservation and compensatory techniques to treat the arthritic population. Custom splinting is also available.

Lymphedema therapy

Lymphedema is chronic swelling (edema) of the arms and/or legs, commonly caused by the removal of or damage to the lymph nodes. Doylestown Health's certified lymphedema therapists are specially trained in comprehensive lymphedema management.

Hospital Services

Electrodiagnostics

This diagnostic test measures muscle response and assesses the health of muscles and nerves to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities.

Pre-admission testing*

Patients have a new, convenient location to undergo pre-admission studies. Testing may include blood tests, urinalysis and EKG.

* Except for cardiac pre-admission testing, which will continue on the second floor of the hospital.
