DOYLESTOWN, PA, November 9, 2016 – Doylestown Hospital earned an "A" grade and ranks among the safest hospitals in the United States in new Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assign A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provide the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S. The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, recently announced the grades. Doylestown Hospital was one of 844 hospitals across the nation to receive an "A".
"Doylestown Health has a long tradition of providing the safest possible medical care to our community," said Doylestown Health CEO Jim Brexler. "Throughout our history the leaders of our organization have made top priorities of improving patient experience and proactively advocating for the wellness of the individuals we serve. Those who have gone before us created a culture marked by the relentless pursuit of quality, and we are upholding that commitment to patient safety."
"Protecting patients from harm is the most important charge for any hospital," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "We recognize and appreciate 'A' hospitals' vigilance and continued dedication to keeping their patients safe."
Developed under the guidance of an Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
