Doylestown Hospital Earns Top 5-Star Rating

DOYLESTOWN (December 21, 2017) – Doylestown Hospital was recognized with the highest rating – five stars – by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for overall quality.

The star rating summarizes the performance of 57 quality measures. While some measures are based on data from Medicare patients, many include quality measures related to mortality, readmissions, complications and patient experience for all hospital patients.

"The five-star rating is another affirmation of the dedicated and high-quality care so proudly delivered by the Associates, Physicians and Volunteers of Doylestown Hospital," said Jim Brexler, president and CEO of Doylestown Health. "Our non-profit community hospital continually strives for excellence and routinely performs among the best hospitals in the nation."

Earlier in December, Doylestown Hospital was named one of the top 45 general acute hospitals in the U.S. by The Leapfrog Group, the second consecutive year Doylestown Hospital earned the designation. The recognition from Leapfrog is notable since both purchasers and consumers use Leapfrog's quality analysis to make decisions about healthcare services.
