Jim Brexler, CEO Doylestown Health

As Doylestown Health moves closer to celebrating its 100th anniversary, we are benefitting from the foresight of the women of the Village Improvement Association who in 1923 founded Doylestown Hospital. The VIA continue to govern our health system today assuring we remain committed to our mission of improving the health of our community. Through the years our commitment to quality and relentless pursuit of excellence has created an organization where today's breadth of medical specialists cares for increasingly complex patients. Doylestown Health is truly an unparalleled community healthcare network which is comprised of a full continuum of healthcare facilities, programs and services. Our dedicated and expert team of physicians, staff and volunteers work together to make the "Doylestown Health experience" one of clinical excellence, healing and proactive maintenance of health.

In the last year alone, Doylestown Health was named one of the 50 top cardiovascular hospitals in the U.S., named one of Leapfrog's top hospitals for patient safety and quality, and U.S. News and World Report ranked Doylestown Health as the seventh best health system in Southeastern Pennsylvania and number 13 in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Doylestown Hospital and Pine Run Health Center also earned the highest rating – five stars – from Medicare. These are just a sampling of the honors and achievements for which our healthcare teams have been recognized.

In addition to achieving the highest of rankings and ratings, we are literally building on our foundation and preparing for our second century of service:

The new Cardiovascular and Critical Care Pavilion, with its 60 private patient rooms and new procedural and treatment areas, is planned to open late this year.

The first phase of Pine Run's Community Center (Hub) with new dining and activity areas opened last August and the second phase of the new Hub open this summer, complete with fitness facilities, pool and auditorium.

The new Doylestown Health Outpatient Pavilion located on the hospital campus will also open next winter. It will include a same-day surgery center, rehabilitation and physician offices and make it more convenient for patients to access rehabilitation and surgical services. And perhaps most exciting for many -- it comes with a new 130-car parking lot.

We are making these investments in our facilities and programs in large part due to support of our generous donors. Our One Vision campaign for Doylestown Health is a $75 million philanthropic campaign will help position Doylestown Health to continue serving our community for years to come.

We have an amazing and ambitious plan for our future . . . and yours! But our One Vision is no more ambitious than what the women of the VIA had for the health of Doylestown back in 1923. We look forward to caring for you in the years ahead, and hope you will join us as we together make these plans a reality for patients, families and the communities we are honored to serve!
