With September kicking off back to school, this is a timely reminder about the important role knowledge and education play as integral components in making informed decisions. In Indian mythology, autumn is considered the preferred season for the “goddess of learning”, and Saraswati is also known by the name of "goddess of autumn". Evolving science and sensitivity to concerns are balanced as we navigate our path to keep everyone safe while providing access to care. Doylestown Health has been fortunate in that we have remained available to our community and have survived challenging times because of our vigilance in the fight against Covid. Our goal is mitigation to avoid repeating the 2020 curve in the spread of this disease. To achieve this goal we have been following the data and clinical evidence to protect our community.
As an independent nonprofit health system, Doylestown Health has been transforming healthcare delivery for nearly a century, and we look forward to celebrating 100 years of health and wellness in our community in 2023 as we continue to grow toward the future. Moreover, our future is very bright thanks to our many Centers of Excellence: Cancer Institute, Orthopedic Institute, Woodall Center for Heart and Vascular Care, VIA Maternity Center, and the Della Penna Pediatric Center. Our many recognitions are the result of a culture of teamwork and a relentless pursuit of excellence that have allowed Doylestown Hospital to increase the complexity of care offered in the last 25 years.
The addition of a new Ambulatory Center on our campus enhances our capacity to provide outpatient surgery at the Doylestown Surgery Center and Stay Suites and establishes a “home base” for delivery of care for support services such as rehabilitation medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy in the Clark Outpatient Rehabilitation Center.
Doylestown Health’s resources align to move our mission to continuously improve the quality of life and proactively advocate for the health and well-being of the individuals we serve. We have taken the stance to be preventive not reactive in an effort to preserve our resources for higher risk population. As the Fall season begins with leaves and temperatures “falling”, let us utilize this time of transition to be attentive/aware/watchful of our roles as not just healthcare providers – but the best healthcare providers!
