Volunteer Without Your Dog
Animal lovers can volunteer as escorts for Doylestown Health's registered pet therapy teams.
An animal escort is a Doylestown Health volunteer who acts as an ambassador, introducing a registered therapy dog to patients, visitors, and staff. Escort training reviews procedures to determine whether or not a patient is cleared for a visit with a therapy animal, and steps to ensure that animal interactions are pleasant, safe and sanitary.

Volunteering as an animal escort is not a big time commitment. A dog typically spends about an hour on each visit to the hospital. The Volunteer Office places escorts with animal teams based on mutually convenient weekday, evening or weekend schedules.
