A community vision of health care
While there are competing ideas about the future of health care being debated by politicians in Washington, D.C., we have a clear and very focused vision of the future of health care. It encompasses quality, efficiency and seamless care for the sick and the well. It's not just for those in hospital beds; it's a comprehensive system of clinicians, services and programs that extend to our community. Our vision is called Doylestown Health.
In our 92-year history, we have established a regional and national reputation for excellence in the clinical services upon which our community depends! At the same time we have also assembled the components of a community health system that has earned success in our own backyard and beyond.
Our vision is not limited to the excellence in medical services we provide for those in need of acute hospital care. Doylestown Health's vision includes navigation counselling before, during and after hospitalization, and throughout an individual's care experience. It includes services targeted for early diagnosis and treatment, screening and risk assessment, promotion of preventative care and education, and support for achieving healthier living.
From our very beginnings in 1923 our founders, the Village Improvement Association, were driven by a mission of community health. Throughout our history, we have been governed by these dedicated women who have championed community wellness. Today we are renewing our commitment to the VIA's core purpose by expanding our continuum of care and using new technologies to help us improve the health of those we serve.
We have high expectations for the future of health care. Together with our Medical Staff, Associates, Volunteers and Donors we have the legacy and vision to make Doylestown Health a true community health system.
