Walk With A Doc Attendees Learn About Signs, Symptoms and Management of Peripheral Artery Disease
Atul S. Rao, MD, FACS, Doylestown Health vascular surgeon, led the October Walk With A Doc, where he gave a brief discussion on steps you can take to reduce your risk for developing PAD, and techniques to manage your pain if you experience signs of PAD. After the talk, attendees enjoyed a refreshing walk with Doylestown Health clinicians around the hospital campus.
The Latest Mammography Guidelines & Risk Reduction Techniques - Coffee Talk Series
Radiologist Michele Kopach, MD, and breast surgeon Donna Angotti, MD, dispelled confusion around the latest breast cancer screening guidelines, discussed breast density and 3-D mammography, and identified the most recent lifestyle, environmental and medical risk factors for breast cancer and how to reduce your risk.
Students Learn About Becoming a Healthcare Professional
Upper Moreland High School's "Health Occupations Students of America" Club learned what it means to be a nurse! Students engaged in the nursing presentation and eagerly participated in a Q&A session led by our pediatric outreach manager, Ashley Heidler, BSN, RN, CPN.
Sound the Alarm! Kids Learn About Fire Safety and Prevention
Doylestown Health partnered with Eagle Fire Company for a blazing, fun-filled morning at the Bucks County Children's Museum! Children explored a fire engine, learned fire and burn prevention tips, and participated in games and activities such as the "Smoke Crawl" and "Stop, Drop and Roll" station, designed to "spark" understanding of fire and burn safety!
Becoming Your Own Health Advocate
Doylestown Health joined Lenape Valley Foundation for their suicide prevention conference to provide education on the importance of health literacy and becoming your own health advocate.
Be Stroke Smart – Know the Signs
Wegmans Montgomeryville hosted their annual Emergency Services event where Sheila Fox, BS, LMT, HWC, MMP, CPT, and Brooke Kearins, MSN, CRNP, taught attendees about stroke awareness.
Seniors Learn About Services Available at Doylestown Health
State Rep. Kathy Watson and Sen. Chuck McIlhinney hosted their senior expo at Delaware Valley University, where 13 areas of Doylestown Health attended, and provided attendees with information about Doylestown Health services and tips for being well.
