Doylestown Health is committed to keeping our community healthy through education and outreach. Here is a recap of our efforts in the community this past month.
Fishing for Facts at the Bucks County Children's Museum
Doylestown Health's Della Penna Pediatric Center sponsored the Bucks County Children's Museum's "Under the Sea" event, where nearly 75 kids fished for facts about water safety while parents engaged in health discussions and enjoyed more information about our services.
Keeping Kids Safe on the Road
Doylestown Health celebrated National Child Passenger Safety Awareness week by holding a car seat check. Free to community members, DH Car Seat Technicians and Safe Kids Bucks County helped ensure children in our community are safer by performing 17 car seat checks.
Students Learn About Becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon
Central Bucks South's Health Occupation Students of America club learned what it takes to become an orthopedic surgeon from Doylestown Health orthopedic surgeon, Charles Burrows, MD. Students were able to tour Zimmer Biomet's Mobile Learning Center, where they viewed an array of displays, audio visual aids, and hands-on learning stations.
Building Healthier Employees
Doylestown Health participated in the Toll Brothers' Health and Wellness Fair in Horsham, where over 400 employees learned about healthy lifestyle behavior changes.
Keeping the Memories Alive
Doylestown Health and Pine Run performed a memory workshop at Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church to teach the importance of keeping minds active as we age.
Joint Jaunt 2016
The Orthopedic Institute held their annual Joint Jaunt event, where patients and community members joined the orthopedic team for a 1-mile walk around the hospital campus and a physician-led panel discussion about living with a joint replacement.
Community Event Shines Light on End-of-Life Care
Members of the Doylestown community gathered at the County Theater to watch a screening of PBS's documentary, Being Mortal, which explores what matters most to patients and families experiencing serious illness. An end-of-life care discussion with Doylestown Health experts followed.
Running for Remembrance
Doylestown Health was a proud sponsor of the Travis Manion 9/11 Heroes Run at Fonthill Park, honoring the sacrifices of the heroes of September 11th and the wars since. More than 200 people stopped by to learn more about our health services and enjoyed health information and free giveaways!
