Orthopedic Surgeon Kieran Cody, MD, Receives Award for Volunteer Work
Congratulations to orthopedic surgeon Kieran Cody, MD, for receiving the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic Volunteer Physician of the Year Award for 2018. Dr. Cody has volunteered in the clinic for more than 10 years.
He learned from his father the importance of helping others in need.
"As always, dad set the example and called my attention to this critical need," says Dr. Cody. "I am delighted to be able to do my part by serving as a volunteer physician."
His father, Kevin Cody, PhD, a physical therapist, has been a volunteer at the clinic for nearly 20 years and is a past recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award.
Dr. Kieran Cody spends one afternoon per month in the clinic, in addition to surgical time. He sees patients and provides treatment, including surgery as needed, at no cost to the patient.
Located at Doylestown Hospital, the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic provides free medical care, dental care, and social services to low-income, uninsured members of our community. Volunteer physicians, dentists, nurses and support staff see patients of all ages. Doylestown Health provides facilities and other support services to the clinic, which is made possible in part by donations from the community.
Dr. Cody is an orthopedic sports medicine specialist with expertise in correcting a broad range of shoulder and knee problems. Dr. Cody has been the team orthopedic surgeon for Central Bucks East High School since 1996.
Dr. Cody is President-Elect of the Doylestown Hospital Medical Staff.
