Most Wired

Doylestown Health continues to invest in technologies that improve patient care and experience, using data and analytics to ensure patient safety and help promote wellness.

For its innovative use of technology, Doylestown Hospital was once again named a "Most Wired" hospital for 2018 by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). This is the seventh year Doylestown Hospital made the national Most Wired list.

Hospitals and health systems at the forefront of using healthcare IT are improving the delivery of care and maximizing the benefits of technologies. The most successful organizations not only adopt technology but apply it strategically to achieve great outcomes, according to an analysis of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) HealthCare's Most Wired survey results.

Doylestown Health continues to seek new ways to use technology to improve patient care and strengthen communication among providers in its clinically-integrated network. Recent advancements include the use of a uniform electronic medical record at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown Health Urgent Care and in community physician offices. Providers can instantly access vital information in a secure environment to ensure the safest, most effective care for each patient.

Doylestown Health's information technology team is further refining use of technology to improve population health. Analytic tools help identify patients with chronic illness to encourage preventive care, and help patients manage their conditions.

"Doylestown Health's commitment to high standards of healthcare quality and patient safety are the inspiration for our adoption and use of new technologies," said Richard Lang, Ed.D, PMP, FHIMSS, vice president and chief information officer for Doylestown Health. "We are honored to be included as one of the Most Wired Hospitals, and our amazing team of MIS professionals continues to look for new ways to use data and analytics to support care management, clinical integration, patient engagement and to promote wellness."

Doylestown Health's IT team earned another important recognition recently. A national publication – Becker's Hospital Review – noticed the investments and the outstanding results in naming CIO Richard Lang to its national list of "72 Community Hospital CIOs to Know." Rick was quick to point out this honor is really a recognition of the entire IT team and its dedication to excellence.
