Symptoms of Heart Valve Problems

Heart valve disease can cause chest pain that you only feel when you exert yourself. It can also causes fatigue and shortness of breath. In addition to these symptoms, different types of heart valve disease have other symptoms.

Symptoms Of Severe Aortic Stenosis

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty when exercising
  • Fatigue and shortness of breath
  • Heart murmur
  • Heart palpitations
  • Lightheadedness or fainting

Symptoms Of Mitral Valve Prolapse

  • Arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat
  • Chest pain
  • Fatigue
  • Lightheadedness or fainting
  • Shortness of breath

Symptoms Of Endocarditis

  • Blood in your urine
  • Fever and chills
  • Muscle and joint aches
  • New or changed heart murmur
  • Night sweats
  • Paleness
  • Persistent cough
  • Red,tender spots under your finger skin (Osler’s nodes)
  • Sweating
  • Swelling in your feet, legs or abdomen
  • Tenderness in your spleen
  • Tiny purple or red spots on your skin, whites of your eye or inside your mouth (Petechiae)
  • Weakness
