Support and Survivorship

Prostate Cancer Support and Survivorship

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in the United States. Approximately nine out of 10 men have localized prostate cancer, which is confined to the prostate gland. These men have a 100 percent survival rate over five years. Approximately 5 percent of men are diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, and survival rates depend on how much the disease has spread from the prostate gland to lymph nodes or other organs in the body.

Doylestown Health's Cancer Institute is at the forefront of community-based hospitals serving the Philadelphia northern suburbs in prostate cancer care. Our goal is to care for patients from the time of initial diagnosis, during treatment and throughout recovery and survivorship. Read on to learn about support and survivorship resources available for patients at Doylestown Health's Cancer Institute.

Support, Education and Guidance for Patients with Cancer

As a community-focused hospital and cancer center, our goal is to care for patients from the time of initial diagnosis, before and after surgery, for the duration of radiation or chemotherapy treatments and throughout recovery and survivorship. Our support groups provide patients with opportunities to participate according to their own preference or personal needs.

Clinical Trials

We encourage patients and families to visit the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center site to search for clinical trials or to download the new Jefferson Clinical Trials app that allows you to quickly reference the Thomas Jefferson University clinical trials database.

Classes and Events

We offer the flexibility of registering for classes, attending workshops or participating in events at the hospital or in the Doylestown community.

Ribbons Studio

Ribbons Studio, a retail store based at Doylestown Hospital, offers patients and caregivers the convenience of shopping for accessories and products needed during cancer treatment or as a cancer survivor. Ribbons Studio carries a variety of wigs, head wraps, hats, post-mastectomy garments, bras, prosthetics, skin products, compression sleeves and stockings.
