Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Treatment

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) is a common dysfunction of the jaw. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the most commonly used joint in the entire body. Like any other joint, the TMJ is susceptible to overuse, inflammation, tightness and spasms in the surrounding muscles.

  • Jaw pain
  • Neck/head pain
  • TMJ clicking/popping
  • Difficulty chewing
  • Grinding or clenching the teeth
  • Limited opening or closing of the mouth
  • Headaches/migraines

About Our Program

Doylestown Health's licensed physical therapists have specific training in management of the TMJ. After a thorough evaluation, a therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan to assist in pain relief, while promoting improved mobility and function of the TMJ.

Doylestown Health participates in most major insurance plans. Our staff will assist you with checking your insurance prior to your first appointment. A physician's prescription is required.
