To educate, train, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration of the next generation of pharmacists to provide excellent patient-centered care.
PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Purpose Statement
The Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
It is difficult to truly explain the value that residency can bring to a pharmacist’s career.
If approached with the right attitude and effort, residency training is a fulfilling, educational experience that can help a pharmacist practice at their highest potential.
The individual who fills this position will have the opportunity to experience a high level of clinical learning and hands-on experience, high levels of camaraderie and teamwork, and the chance to develop their skills in a wide range of settings.
At Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, we had the exciting opportunity to start our one-year residency training in 2021.
