Phase 1 - Cardiac Rehab

Doylestown Health's Cardiovascular ICU provides one-on-one personalized cardiac rehabilitation, including 2 to 4 exercise sessions each day for heart surgery patients.

Our team works directly with you to cover a range of health and heart care topics, so that when you are discharged you feel comfortable about your home care. Following discharge, a nurse will call you at home to check on your progress.

Exercise is personalized and tailored to your condition, medical history, fitness level and tolerance. Patients will participate in:

  • Range of motion exercises
  • Walking
  • Stairclimbing

All bypass and valve surgery patients are discharged from the hospital with an exercise plan and a date to start Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation | Phase 2. Patients from other regions are given information about local cardiac rehabilitation programs in their area.
