About Our Animal-Assisted Activity Program

Therapy dogs enhance the patient experience at Doylestown Health, providing welcome companionship for patients and their families. Our therapy dogs are special animals with temperaments and training to function effectively in a hospital setting. Every dog who participates in the program is registered and insured by one of the following pet therapy organizations:

Get to Know Our Therapy Dogs

Handlers who share their time, talent, and their best friend are Doylestown Health volunteers who are registered animal therapy handlers. All dogs and handlers participate in thorough orientation and training, obtain security clearances, and share veterinary records. Handlers groom their dogs prior to each visit.

While each visit can add to the comfort and peace of our patients, Doylestown Health does not provide goal-oriented pet therapy in which an animal is integral to clinical healthcare treatment.

Get Involved

Whether you have a certified therapy dog or are an animal lover looking to volunteer, there are many ways to participate in the Animal-Assisted Activity program.
