Join Doylestown Health for important conversations on a variety of mental health topics .
Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological and social welfare and has a profound impact on our overall health and wellbeing. The CDC estimates that 50% of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental health disorder in their lifetime. A US Census Bureau survey conducted throughout the pandemic has found that more than one-third of American adults report symptoms of depressive and/or anxiety disorder — triple the rate reported in 2019. Now more than ever, our mental health must be a priority.
In keeping with our commitment to promote health and wellness in the community, Doylestown Health is pleased to announce its 5 th Annual Mental Health Series, entitled, “Unite with Might: Mental Health Community Conversations.” Beginning February 23, 2022, and continuing throughout June, this series will explore mental health, how it relates to the various phases of our lives and the complex role it plays in addiction.
“Mental health and substance use disorders notoriously face heavy stigma,” says Ashley Benton, Doylestown Health education outreach liaison. “Each year we hope to normalize the conversation surrounding these topics and provide support to foster a well and resilient community. We are inviting our community members, Associates, business partners and all of those interested in prioritizing mental health to unite with might by meeting us at the table for these timely talks.”
Registration is required for these free, monthly virtual presentations given by local mental health professionals and community partners.
